Sodalite colours range from light to dark shades of rich royal blue and are veined with white streaks or markings. Sodalite gained popularity in the 1800s during a royal visit to Bancroft by Princess Margaret of England. The princess loved the mineral and chose it as interior decoration and is sometimes called Princess Blue.
